About Center Mass Permit Class

I have held my permit to carry since 2003, when the Minnesota Personal Protection Act first passed. Driven by a deep commitment to educate people on the safe handling of firearms and how to legally carry in Minnesota, I became certified in 2009 through AACFI (now NACFI) to teach new permit to carry students. In January 2023, Center Mass Permit Class became officially certified by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) to train and certify new instructors. Today, based out of Litchfield, we are proud to foster safe, legal, and knowledgeable carry habits across the state.

Our network includes 9 dedicated instructors positioned throughout Minnesota—from Dassel to Brainerd to Bemidji and communities in between. Backed by years of collective real-world experience, our entire team shares the unified goal to keep every gun owner safe and legal. At the end of every class, students complete a hands-on live-fire shooting qualification to demonstrate safe weapon handling. Because a Minnesota permit to carry is valid for 5 years and mandates renewal prior to expiration, our #1 mission is ensuring you practice regularly and maintain true proficiency with your personal defense firearm.
